Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh: Education is most effective when communities, schools, and social organizations work together to support every child’s learning journey. Embracing this philosophy, Smiley Children Society has been actively implementing educational and child welfare initiatives across Andhra Pradesh since its founding on January 19, 2019.
Established by Prudhvi Moses, the organization has steadily expanded its outreach through its headquarters in Mandapeta and branch offices in Angara and Pothavaram, focusing on improving educational access and creating opportunities for children from economically disadvantaged families.
One of the society’s flagship programs is assisting underprivileged children with admissions to government schools. Volunteers engage directly with families, identify children who are out of school, explain the benefits of formal education, and help complete the admission process in coordination with local educational institutions.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by educators, including Headmaster Swamy Narayan, who acknowledged the valuable contribution of Smiley Children Society’s volunteers in encouraging school enrollment and supporting government education.
“Community participation plays an essential role in strengthening our education system. We are grateful to organizations like Smiley Children Society for helping children take their first step toward a better future,” he said.
Founder Prudhvi Moses believes that education should remain accessible to every child, regardless of financial circumstances.
“When society comes together to support a child’s education, the impact extends beyond the classroom. We are building confident individuals who can contribute positively to their families and communities in the years ahead,” he said.
Apart from school enrollment initiatives, the organization operates free evening tuition centres in Angara, where students receive academic assistance from dedicated volunteers. The tuition program focuses on strengthening subject knowledge, improving study habits, and preparing students for examinations.
Recognizing that proper nutrition is equally important for effective learning, Smiley Children Society also provides free dinner to children attending the evening classes. This initiative helps reduce the financial burden on families while ensuring students can concentrate on their education in a healthy environment.
The organization is equally committed to improving the quality of early childhood education. During various educational forums and school events, Prudhvi Moses has advocated for introducing more creative and activity-based teaching methods in Anganwadi centres and primary schools. He believes that interactive learning techniques can significantly improve children’s curiosity, confidence, and long-term academic performance.
To support this vision, Smiley Children Society regularly donates educational equipment, teaching aids, and classroom materials to institutions promoting innovative learning practices.
Looking ahead, the organization aims to expand its educational programs, strengthen its volunteer network, and collaborate with more schools to ensure that quality education reaches every child in need. Through its continued dedication to service, Smiley Children Society is helping create a future where education is not a privilege but an opportunity available to every child.
